Urbanization effect on Hyderabad seismic station

Seismographs record earthquakes and also various types of noise, including anthropogenic noise. In the present study, we analyse influence lockdown due to COVID-19 on ground motion at CSIR-NGRI HYB Seismological Observatory, Hyderabad. We noise recorded a week before after implementation by estimating probability density function seismic power spectral constructing daily spectrograms. find that low frequency (<1 Hz), where is typically dominated naturally occurring microseismic reduction ~2 dB for secondary microseisms (7–3 s) higher (1–10 Hz) ~6 was observed during period. The in frequencies corresponding sources led improving SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) factor 2 which bandwidth microearthquakes leading identification with Ml around 3 from epicentral distances 180 km.
